Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell (2011)

An Inspiring Evangelistic Feature Film

Josh McDowell was born into the harsh realities of a cruel world. His father’s violent alcoholism coupled with his own childhood molestation filled McDowell with shame. Over the years, that shame drove him further and further from Christ, until it finally turned to rage. Eager to rail against the existence of a loving God, McDowell sought out conflict with the Christians he encountered in college. He mocked their beliefs and scorned their faith until they issued him a challenge: prove God doesn’t exist. Obsessively, McDowell travelled the world scouring sacred historical texts for evidence contradicting Christianity. What he found instead was truth — and a faith that led to grace and redeemed a broken man.

Undaunted is the true story of how Josh McDowell set out to prove Jesus Christ never existed — but ended up on a journey that brought him face to face with God’s love and transforming power. His ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ has allowed him to share the good news of his Savior to millions people around the world, and he’s published over 120 books in the field of Christian Apologetics, including More Than a Carpenter and Evidence That Demands a Verdict. He is living proof that a life can be transformed.

"Undaunted is a compelling and riveting story. This docu-drama is going to bring vision and hope to the most wounded generation in our nation's history."
— Dr. Dennis Rainey, President and CEO, FamilyLife

"I was moved from beginning to end. This film will open up the dialogue and doors that will allow the gospel to get to the harder places of our lives that are buried in shame and guilt."
— Marc V. Rutter, U.S. National Director, Cru

Heavenly Match
Film Description:

Heavenly Match a charming, uplifting romantic comedy about a 30-year-old minister named Casey Hart, who is faced with fork-in-the road decisions with both her career in the ministry and her love life.

The film is based on Beth Pattillo’s acclaimed novel, Heavens to Betsy, which in turn sprang from Pattillo’s experiences as a female minister.

Life would be perfect for 30-year-old, single Reverend Casey Hart (Samaire Armstrong) if it weren’t for parishioners who poke into her love life and steal money from the collection box. Not to mention some very inconvenient feelings she is having for her long-time friend, fellow seminary school classmate, and verbal sparring partner, David Swenson (Brenden Penny). Feeling the pressure of leading the congregation and managing the board’s expectations, Casey questions if she should remain a minister in the church or pursue other career opportunities. Unsure of her direction, terrified of professional failure and panicked that David has met someone new, Casey turns to her other best friend from school, Reverend LaRonda “Ronnie” Mason (LeToya Luckett). Can Casey reclaim her confidence while reconciling her clerical robe with high heels and date nights? A fun-loving look at a single girl’s life on the other side of the altar.

“Heavenly Match is a fun, relatable romantic comedy about finding your place in life as seen through the eyes of a little-explored character on television, a female minister”

Heavens to Betsy and Earth to Betsy author Beth Pattillo has written over a dozen books, including the Jane Austen Formidables trilogy, the Sweetgum Knit Lit Society series, and the Regency-set historicals Princess Charming and Her Perfect Earl. In addition, Pattillo is an ordained Christian minister and the co-founder of the Faith Leader program. After many years as a parish minister, she now serves as a spiritual director and retreat leader for Still Waters of Nashville. Originally from Texas, Pattillo is married and is the mother of two children. Her Master of Divinity degree is from Vanderbilt University. She believes a good sense of humor is the biggest blessing of all.

The Late Great Planet Church: The Rise of Dispensationalism (2008)

Many Christians today read their Bibles through the lens of pop-prophecy books like The Late Great Planet Earth and the Left Behind series. They naively believe the prophetic schemes and theological presuppositions expressed in these and other fictional writings represent the doctrinal positions that Christians down through the centuries have embraced. However, that is far from the truth.

Volume One of The Late Great Planet Church: The Rise of Dispensationalism is the first documentary of its kind. It exposes this erroneous system of thought as breaking continuity with history --- and even the very Word of God. In this first volume we will examine the beginnings, beliefs, and motivations of this innovative movement by focusing on its relatively recent development, stormy history and its most influential proponents.

Hosted by Jerry Johnson, President of NiceneCouncil.com and The Apologetics Group, this documentary features pastors, theologians, and historians, who at one time were strongly committed dispensationalists. Several of these men even trained at dispensational academic institutions before abandoning the system. They have since rejected this system as thoroughly unbiblical, viewing it as a stumbling block to the Church and a distraction from the Great Commission.
