Bamboo in Winter (1990)

She was just back from the university. With memories of Tiananmen Square still fresh on her mind, she now faces a new kind of revolution—a revolution of the soul. The stirrings she feels in her heart edge her closer to an eternal decision. But in this atheistic communist society, the consequences of such a decision can be devastating.

Based on actual events happening in China, this thrilling drama will move Christians into a new sense of the power of God's Word—and cause seekers to look at their own spiritual condition.

"Without question, The Hope is the most powerful presentation of the gospel on video that we have ever seen. Where the .Jesus film has introduced millions worldwide to the life and message of Jesus, The Hope is set to supplement that by giving an overall view of the timeline of history on earth. ...There is a "zero embarrassment" factor on this one, so feel free to share a copy with friends, family, your local library... the question is what part will you and The Hope play together in reaching the nations with the Good News of the Kingdom?"
From review by Ken James at Christian Spotlight on the Movies

"The common barriers to global evangelization are language, culture, geography, and iliteracy. The Hope was created to overcome these barriers, and to take viewers on a complete journey through the biblical account of God's redemptive story in little more than an hour."
--Fred Carpenter, President of Marks Hill productions.

"In a time when instant solutions are sought, it is gratifying to see a project like The Hope which takes the time to use the fabric of Scripture to prepare the human heart for true understanding of the Gospel."
--Don Pederson, Chairman, New Tribes Missions Research and Planning

Lee Strobel Collection: Case For Christ / Creator / Faith (2006 - 2007)

This three-disc collection includes:

The Case For Christ
Lee Strobel's blockbuster bestseller comes alive in this documentary that chronicles the reporter's journey from atheism to faith, he draws upon his investigative skills to examine the historical viability and accuracy of the Gospels, along with the personal claims and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He asks recognized experts some tough questions: How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence exist for Jesus outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual historical event?

The Case For A Creator
As a high school freshman, Lee Strobel became convinced that God did not exist. Only the hard, empirical evidence of science could be trusted -- and it appeared to point to a universe created by purely materialistic processes… time, chance, and Darwinian evolution. This atheistic worldview deeply influenced Strobel’s academic years and early career as an award-winning journalist for the Chicago Tribune.  Then, in 1980, his wife’s conversion to Christianity led him on an intensive search for the truth about God.  Not surprisingly, he began with science. What do the discoveries of modern biology, physics, cosmology, and astronomy really tell us about the origin of life and the universe?  When objectively considered, does contemporary scientific evidence point toward or away from a supernatural Creator?  Strobel interviewed scientists and scholars from a wide range of disciplines for the answers.

The Case For Faith
In The Case for Faith, part of a series based on Lee Strobel's books, Strobel turns his tenacious investigative skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief - the eight "heart" barriers to faith. The Case for Faith, based on Lee Strobel's Gold Medallion-winning book, is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with intellectual barriers standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in discussing Christianity with their most skeptical friends.

The Legend of Three Trees (2001)

The Legend of the Three Trees is a timeless retelling of the classic folk tale of three distinct trees, each with its own hopes, dreams and aspirations. We follow a beautiful olive tree blossoming in the valley, a knotty oak tree clinging to the shore and a strong pine standing high on the mountainside. They each dreamed of becoming great - perhaps a majestic treasure chest, or a magnificent sailing ship or maybe the tallest tree in the forest.

But their dreams didn't seem to come true. Disappointed and dejected, the trees despair about their existence until they each finally interact, in their own unique ways, with Jesus Christ in His birth, ministry and ultimate sacrifice. In these experiences, they learn that God has a special purpose for each of them in His kingdom.

"Featuring masterful narration by Hal Holbrook, excellent animation and a story that is engaging from beginning to end."

Pilgrim's Progress: Journey to Heaven (2008)

Pilgrim's Progress: Journey to Heaven is a modern adaptation of John Bunyan's beloved classic tale.

Amazing visual effects, beautiful locations and a wonderful cast bring to life the story that has inspired each generation for hundreds of years. Follow Christian and his companions on the great journey from the City of Destruction to the gates of Heaven.

Along the way, the pilgrims face obstacles large and small, man-made and demon-spawned.

Beyond the gripping drama, Bunyan's powerful allegory teaches us the hazards and hopes of the Christian life, and the triumphant glory that awaits all who faithfully follow the King of kings!

Absolutely wonderful! A must have for the family! - Jonathan Falwell, Thomas Road Baptist Church

Beyond the Next Mountain (1987)

At the close of the 19th century, the British branded the Hmar people of northeast India as "the worst headhunters." It was a label well deserved at the time. But in 1910, a single copy of the New Testament Gospel of John came into this village and changed the course of history for the Hmar people. Through that single copy of John's Gospel, Chawnga, the father of Rochunga Pudaite, was introduced to a revolutionary "new life in Christ." He and a few tribesmen "forsook all and followed Christ." Chawnga believed that Rochunga was God's chosen instrument to bring the Scriptures to the entire Hmar tribe in their own language.

The Eastern Bride (2005)

Pete is a young, globetrotting South African business consultant. He is unaware of the pressure fellow Christians are under in the Middle East, and he's also unaware of the deception in China and how they "appear" to be open to Christianity. But that is about to change. While on a business trip in the Middle East, Pete is quickly awakened to the fact that Christians in both countries face real-life persecution for following the Lord.

This challenging and inspiring drama will open your eyes to the realities of life for Christians in these countries.

Time Changer (2002)

The year is 1890 and Bible professor, Russell Carlisle has written a new manuscript that proves popular with all of his peers except for one.

When Norris Anderson states that Carlisle’s ideas are deadly and could adversely affect coming generations their relationship is strained to the brink.

Hell's Bells 2: The Power and Spirit of Popular Music (2004)

Using music as a diagnostic tool, Hell's Bells 2: The Power and Spirit of Popular Music examines the modern world, dusting it for the fingerprints of the men and ideas that have sought to dethrone God and set man up in His place.

This six-hour documentary series is broken into eight parts:
* Part 1: Introduction - Foundations for Cultural Analysis; 19 minutes
* Part 2: Sound & Fury - An Examination of the Power of Music; 50 minutes
* Part 3: Heartbeats - Music's Spiritual Connection; 30 minutes
* Part 4: Notes from the Underground - The Occult History of Rock; 70 minutes
* Part 5: Hearts of Darkness - Rebellion, Nihilism and Death; 48 minutes
* Part 6: Mojo Rising - Satanic Sex and Rock 'n' Roll; 60 minutes
* Part 7: Antichrist Superstars - Rock's Ultimate Rebellion; 43 minutes
* Part 8: Knockin' on Heaven's Door; 48 minutes

"... perhaps the greatest documentary on any subject ever! Lives will change." Ray Comfort - Internationally renowned author and evangelist
Over three years in the making, this much-anticipated sequel to the original Hell's Bells series weaves together science, satire, testimonies, parables, interviews, expansive research, and a vibrant Christian perspective to create a video series that is as fascinating as it is educational and evangelistic. Far more than just a commentary on the dangers of popular music, this eight-part, six-hour, up-to-the-minute documentary uncovers the "war of the worldviews" - the epic struggle between good and evil, sin and redemption for the souls of men and the destiny of our culture.
Great not only for evangelizing the lost and challenging Christians to greater holiness and service, it also serves as an outstanding primer on worldviews. Among other things, it features a fascinating history of the occult revivals that took place in the late 19th century (and that would later have such a profound impact in the 60s), an analysis of "chaos versus creation", nihilism, what it means to be truly "satanic" and much, much more. Ideal for Bible study, family discussion, discipling young people (and older folks, too!), Sunday school class and cell groups, this is one video series that is guaranteed to provoke discussion, reflection, and, by God's grace, changed lives.
"Part 4 - Notes from the Underground was by itself worth the cost of the whole series. Incredible! I learned more about the origins of many of the insane ideas that guide our modern world than I did from seminary. Kudos to you and your outstanding research and production." Pastor Brady Clark, Atlanta, Georgia

Hell's Bells: The Dangers of Rock 'N' Roll (1989)

Hells Bells (classic)..Journey through the dark side of rock as Hell's Bells unmasks the message behind rock music. The film examines the relationship of rock music to sex, violence, suicide, drug use, rebellion, the occult, and other activities considered immoral by Biblical Theology. The music in the documentary is music produced prior to the nineties. The film portrays various lyrics and visual imagery in rock music and rock stars as evidence that it is satanic or anti christian.
It also explained the theory of backmasking.

"This incredibly intense video confronts some serious topics... guaranteed to promote discussion on a number of major issues affecting the youth of today." Barry Taylor - former soundman with the AC/DC

This three-hour presentation is broken down into 5 sections:

* Part 1: The Dangers of Rock ‘n' Roll: An overview of the problem and the biblical worldview that will be used in its analysis
* Part 2: The Root of Rock: From whence did this new musical form spring...and gets its power?
* Part 3: The Fruit of Rock, Part 1: Looking at the fruit of something, Jesus said, can tell you a lot about a phenomenon's origins and ultimate destiny
* Part 4: The Fruit of Rock, Part 2: It really is more than just "sex, drugs and rock ‘n' roll
* Part 5: The Axe Falls: Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more. The cross reveals the true "Rock" - the One that will never be rolled away.

Second Glance (1992)

A young Christian, Daniel (David A.R. White) is in public high school. He feels as if his religion is placing too many restrictions on him and he wishes to have some freedom from biblical teachings so that he can be more popular and go out with the girl he likes. One night Daniel wishes that he had "never become a believer," and the next day he has a rude awakening. His room is different, his house is dirty, and an angel meets him and explains to him that the "Heavenly Father" answered his prayer and now his life is as if he never became a Christian. He soon finds out that the two bullies at school are now his best friends and at school he enjoys the fact that the girl he really liked now likes him too. But all is not well. He goes on to learn that his younger sister no longer exists because his parents got divorced years ago in his alternative life. He is also shocked when his mom prances off to go on a date with someone other than his father (who moved to Los Angeles.) The angel appears and points out his nice car which Daniel got by betting money on football games last year. Daniel says he has never gambled in his life but the angel points out that his life is different now and it is as if he had never been a believer. Daniel also thinks the whole thing a big prank and he does not believe the angel at all.

That night 'Dan' goes to a party which, as a Christian, he would not have attended because alcohol was served. While there, Daniel learns that Scotty Parks, a kid who he had helped convert to Christianity, had committed suicide weeks ago in this alternate reality because Daniel had not been there to talk with him about the Bible. Daniel also gets into some girl trouble and is framed by one of the girls which sends 'Bull,' her boyfriend and a school tough-guy, in pursuit of Daniel. Daniel almost gets hit by a car but makes it to a church where he pounds on the doors, but because they are locked, Bull gets him cornered. But, right before 'Danny-Boy' is pummeled he sees that his shirt has turned back to blue - what it was when he was a Christian, a day before. Bull holds out his hands caringly toward the cringing Daniel and asks him "What's wrong?" and said he saw Daniel banging on a church door in the night and stopped to see what was going on. Daniel says that he is OK and Bull soon leaves. The angel appears and asks Daniel if he still wished he was a non-believer. They have a conversation and Daniel sees that he really would rather be a Christian and not get into the mess his life became ever again. The next morning he is pleasantly surprised that his sister still lives and his dad is still home. He goes to school and is happy that even though he may not be popular with the 'in crowd,' he was still making a bigger difference than he thought among his friends and others in school. After talking to Scotty, Dan turns back toward camera and says excitedly, "Hey Scotty ... Jesus, man!" as the credits roll.

Without Reservation
Six teenagers leave the party. Four of them enter a new dimension, never to return. Victims of a fatal automobile accident, they find themselves suspended in time and space, somewhere between heaven and hell. Through a "window" in space, they are able to observe those they have left behind, and to preview their individual destinies. Stripped of all pretense, they each have a dramatically different response to their situation. The "almost Christian" is overcome by the realization of her folly. The "practical agnostic" is in bitter denial. And the "silent Christian" is confronted by his close friend, "Why didn't you tell me while there was time?" This sobering story concludes with an unexpected turn that powerfully communicates the hope we have in Christ. Without Reservation will move Christians to share their faith with a renewed sense of purpose, and will challenge others to seriously examine their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Moment of Truth
This is the story of Norman's "moment of truth": a moment when powers of darkness are restrained by angels of God in response to prayers of believers; a moment when Norman's resistance to God has been worn down; an optimum moment to encounter Christ. But still, only a moment.
Cheth is the angel assigned to Norman. Aenon, also an angel, is visiting from another world. As Cheth briefs Aenon, we learn of the disease that has infected mankind, and of the Master's plan to rescue humans. We discover Norman's pain as a child of divorce, encounter the demon assigned to keep Norman from the Master, and meet Allen, the human chosen by the Master to speak the truth to Norman.
In the creative and compelling style for which Mars Hill films have become known, Moment of Truth powerfully communicates the drama of sharing and receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Finger of God (2007)

Finger of God began as a short film about God’s miraculous power. I had no budget, no script, and no idea what this movie was ultimately going to look like. I teach storytelling and film at a University in Chicago, and here I was breaking all of my own rules.

But that’s where I found myself, and I quickly discovered that God is an incredible film producer. He funded the whole film (I never had to ask for money), took me around the world, and introduced me to some truly incredible people.

So what is the film about? Well, now that it’s finished, I can finally answer that question. On the surface it is about the miraculous. I originally thought I was making a film that simply tried to capture miracles on tape. But as the story progressed, things began to change.

At its core, it is about the heart of God. It’s about how He views us, and how He is desperate for a relationship with us. Along the way, He places his finger on our lives, touches us deeply, heals us, shows His creativity, and generally surprises us with every move He makes.

The film’s international cast includes a wide variety of people, ministries, and personalities. But just to whet your appetite, here is a partial list of some of the things you will see and hear about in this film:

    Manna in the Pentagon
African children who perform miracles every day
Incredibly rare footage of the Chinese underground church
Eastern European Gypsies radically changed by God’s power
    Amazing stories of the miraculous
    Hundreds raised from the dead
Gemstones appearing out of thin air
Saddaam Hussein’s old palace is now a church
    And much, much more.

Furious Love (2010)

Furious Love was conceived before Darren Wilson had even finished his first film, Finger of God. He was in Istanbul, Turkey, and Heidi Baker, a missionary from Mozambique, began to pray for him. In the midst of her prayer, she suddenly saw, in her spirit, Darren filming the occult and demonic. The the Lord gave her this word for Darren: “You must go into the darkness to show the light.” Neither Darren or Heidi had the slightest clue what any of this might mean, and the last thing on Darren’s mind at that point was a “sequel” to Finger of God, which he still had yet to even put together!

Two months later, while in an otherwise normal church service, Darren was literally pushed back into his seat with the second part of God’s call to him. He heard, very distinctly, God tell him to do two things with this film:

show the world the reality of the war between darkness and light
show the world that the only way we can win this war is through love

That was it. Darren had his marching orders. But first, he had to make Finger of God.

Finger of God was released in late December, 2007. Darren had no marketing plan, no financial backers, and no distributers who were even remotely interested. He put it online, and word of mouth began to turn his strange, little film into an underground hit in the truest sense of the word. To date it has sold more than 60,000 copies, and has been seen by millions of people around the world.

The success of Finger of God opened up the possibility for Darren to move forward in his next production: Furious Love.

Darren and his faithful crew of two, Braden Heckman and Matt Bilen, began filming Furious Love in July, 2008, in Tanzania. The only direction Darren had for the film was to accomplish the two things he knew the Lord had told him to do. The reality of the war should be easy enough to show, but how does one film love? How does one translate the devastating effects of unconditional love from God onto a screen? This was the question that haunted Darren and his crew everywhere they went, and so they just delved further into the darkness, hoping at each stop that God would prove Himself faithful and that He would show up when the cameras were rolling. They were ever cognizant that if God did not show up, they had no film.

Filming was completed in August, 2009. With a budget pushing $300,000 and a growing expectation from the Finger of God fan base, Darren and his crew knew they had to deliver something that was at least equal to Finger of God. They knew they had some incredible footage and stories (over 200 hours worth), but how to put it all together? From August to October, Darren locked himself away in his studio in an effort to allow the Holy Spirit to guide him through telling the story of God’s immense love for a very dark, very sinful world. It was the most strenuous spiritual experience he had ever gone through. When he emerged, and after his crew had come in to put a polish and sheen on the film, they knew they had just created something very special.

The Lord also put on Darren’s heart in late 2009 to start a new form of distribution for Christian films, with Furious Love being the forerunner. He was told, quite clearly, to “turn churches into movie theaters.” Partnering with Sondra Martin Hicks and Heartstone Pictures, that’s exactly what they did. On February 14, 2010, Furious Love was unveiled to the world in over 500 churches in 19 countries.

Father of Lights (2012)

Father of Lights is the final film in the Finger of God/Furious Love trilogy. It is big, epic, and above all, challenging. If I were to have to explain what it is about in a nutshell, I would put it like this: if Finger of God is about God’s power, and Furious Love is about God’s love, then Father of Lights is about God’s heart. I went into making this film by asking the simple question: who is God? I wanted to know His character, His personality, and who He truly is. To answer this question, we had to peel back the many layers of religious garbage that has been passed onto him through generations. That He is angry. Vengeful. Wrathful. And in general, that He doesn’t like you very much. The truth, as you will see vibrantly in this film, is that He is the most loving, compassionate, and wonderful Father you can imagine.

Along the way we will look at a number of things. Aside from dealing with some of the misconceptions surrounding the Father, we’ll journey through the nature of grace, take on the religious spirit, and see some of the most amazing God encounters ever put on film. You’ll meet people who love more extravagantly than you thought possible, will watch God deal with witch doctors and gang leaders and Hindu holy men, and you’ll see and ending that…well…let’s just say you’ll need to see it to truly believe it.

I am constantly amazed by the genius of God, and putting this trilogy together has only increased my amazement. It was strange, because even as I was putting together Finger of God, thinking how much of a miracle it would be if even 1000 people ever saw this movie, I somehow had the suspicion that I was going to be making a trilogy. I had no idea what the other movies would be about, but simply had a sense that this was the first part of a much larger story.

I find it interesting how God started my story, and the story of these films, kind of on the periphery, with the signs and wonders phenomena, and has slowly moved me closer and closer into the very heart of the gospel. Gemstones and gold dust are great and all, but they aren’t smack in the center of God’s heart. Neither are miracles. With Furious Love, we’re getting closer, moving into His love for the lost and the broken. But with Father of Lights, we hit the center of all things, and it’s going to make some people very uncomfortable. Especially religious people.

This will be a monumental call to the church to stand up and finally do what we have been called to do around the world. If we aren’t going to love the world around us, then we might as well pack it all up and go home. If we don’t love, and if we don’t bring freedom with us, then we are simply another religion, lumped in with the rest of them. But first, of course, we need to understand who we truly are and what we have at our disposal.

The truth is, the light of the world resides within us. And we have but one Father.

The Light of Darkness (1998)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ in 9 mins flat.

A white woman runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere, with night approaching. During the night, she is confronted by a black man. Neither will ever forget the encounter.

This movie reminds us in many way of our God. God is ever willing to help us and for our salvation he sent his only son to die on the cross. But sinners that we are, we reject his love and his invitation. We are obsessed by our own righteousness and feel that we do not need God to be saved. Hence we have closed our ears and our eyes to the message of the Bible. We feel that we deserve heaven on our own merit. Some of us even mock God thinking that he does not exist.

But know that, sinner or saint no one deserves heaven on his own merit. Even if you have closed your eyes and your ears, God will never give up on you. He will try to reach you in all ways possible through various people. But he will never force himself on you. That choice to accept or reject God is in your hands. Only question that remains is whether you will be saved before it is too late?

Chaos rules the world as panic and grief stricken survivors continue to search for their lost loved-ones. Suicide rates are sky-rocketing, businesses and homes are being looted, and martial law is in effect. A desperate world looks to the leadership and guidance of UN President Nicolae Carpathia, the only person offering any answers, hope, and plans to restore peace and order.

While Carpathia has the world's adoration and trust, he is seemingly unaware of four rebels spreading the truth that he is in fact the prophesied Antichrist of the Bible. Leading this small group (called the Tribulation Force) is Pastor Bruce Barnes.

Left Behind III: World At War
President Gerald Fitzhugh lives in a different world – everyone does.

A year and a half ago the world was hit with the biggest catastrophe it had ever seen. Without warning and without explanation, hundreds of millions of people simply vanished off the face of the earth. The world was in chaos like it had never been before.

Yet somehow one man seemed to rise to the challenge. One man had the strength and conviction to unite a shattered world. One man gave the world hope. That man was Nicolae Carpathia. He now rules the entire world.

Fitzhugh, like most of America , whole-heartedly supports Nicolae's new global leadership, but there are those who do not. A dangerous militia movement and an underground group of born-again Christians actively, but separately, work to bring Nicolae down. Their reasons for resistance may be different, but both groups are labeled as dangerous terrorists that Fitzhugh must stop without mercy.

With time running out both Fitzhugh and Buck must make the toughest decisions of their lives. Will Fitzhugh sacrifice the lives of millions to ultimately save America? Can Buck lead Fitzhugh to the real truth about Nicolae before it's too late? And after the smoke clears: who will survive World War III?

The Good Test (2000)

"Most Men will proclaim each his own goodness"
Proverbs 20:6

In fact, Proverbs 21:2 declares "Every way of man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts."
Though most people believe they are heaven bound, what exactly is heaven's standard for good, moral and righteous? Who is righteous enough to enter?

God has not left us in the dark - His Law (the Ten Commandments) reveals the standard we must meet. In fact, we are told that the Law of the Lord is perfect, holy, just and good. God has even revealed His Law to every human heart (Romans 2:15). Nevertheless, the Law cannot save us: "...by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20).

This concise video questions dozens of people and illuminates their "goodness" from God's perspective. With powerful animations and convicting visuals, The Good test uncovers humanity's heart condition. Most importantly, it makes known the awesome hope that is available to all ...

God's Outlaw: The Story Of William Tyndale (1986)

A true story, God's Outlaw is about international politics, church intrigue, cold-blooded betrayal, and false justice ending in a criminal's death. But it's also about victorious faith and spiritual triumph over some of the greatest political and religious forces known in the 16th century.

A simple God-seeking man, William Tyndale somehow became one of the most wanted men in England and all of Europe. Pursued by King Henry VIII, Lord Chancellor Sir Thomas More, and the Pope's personal legate Cardinal Wolsey, Tyndale darted across Europe to avoid capture -- always pushing to complete the task that obsessed him.

The task was translating the Bible into English and publishing it for his fellow countrymen -- Englishmen who lived in a country where the Bible and even prayers in English were outlawed by a harsh and rigid religious establishment. Today William Tyndale is renowned as "the father of the English Bible," and is recognized as one of the major leaders of the English Reformation. But the tale of how he lived and died as "God's Outlaw" is a compelling "rest-of-the-story," and is especially a moving encouragement for modern people of faith.

Every Young Man's Battle (2009)

Every Young Man's Battle documents the problem of pornography and sexual temptation faced by teenage and young adult males. In this world you’re surrounded by sexual images that open the door to temptation. They’re everywhere–on TV, billboards, magazines, music, the internet–and so easy to access that it sometimes feels impossible to escape their clutches. Yet God expects his children to be sexually pure. So how can you survive the relentless battle against temptation? Here’s powerful ammunition.

Steve Arterburn and Fred Stoeker, the authors of the hard-hitting best-seller Every Man’s Battle, now focus on the temptations young single Christian men like you face every day–and they offer workable, biblical strategies for achieving sexual purity.

The authors examine the standard of Ephesians 5:3–“there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality”–in a positive and sensitive light. And they explain how an authentic, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ is the key to victory over temptation. Every Young Man’s Battle will show you how to train your eyes and your mind, how to clean up your thought life, and how to develop a realistic battle plan for remaining pure in today’s sexually soaked culture. As a result, you’ll experience hope–real hope–for living a strong, pure life God’s way.

The video also features a portion of the interview from Dr. James Dobson conducted with serial killer Ted Bundy.

The exceptional cast includes VANESSA REDGRAVE as Alice More, JOHN GIELGUD as Cardinal Wolsley and ROY KINNEAR (to whom the movie is dedicated) as the Common Man. Alleged (2010)

Some lies just need to be told.

"ALLEGED" is a romantic drama based on events occurring behind the scenes and outside the courtroom of the famous Scopes "Monkey Trial" of 1925.

Charles Anderson (Nathan West), a talented young reporter, feels trapped living in a tiny town (Dayton, TN, 1925) in steep decline. Using the Monkey Trial as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break into the journalistic big leagues, Charles becomes the eager protégé of Baltimore Sun editor H.L Mencken (Colm Meany), America's most colorful and influential columnist.

The trial itself lives up to its billing as the "Trial of the Century" when the great Clarence Darrow (Brian Dennehy) defends the theory of evolution against the popular statesman and fundamentalist William Jennings Bryan (Sen. Fred Thompson) who sees the reduction of mankind to mere animal status as both inaccurate and potentially disastrous. Once in the midst of this staged event, Charles is torn between his love for the more principled Rose (Ashley Johnson), his fiancée, and the escalating moral compromises that he is asked to make by the agnostic and acerbic Mencken. When the truth is at stake, Charles discovers, some lies just have to be told.

"ALLEGED" is a true story of conflicts that boiled over in 1925 but that remain simmering with us to this day - evolution and creation in the public schools, the role of science in society, and media sensationalism motivated by religious and political biases on all sides.

So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole "reading of the will" thing would be another simple cash transaction, that his grandfather's money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. Twelve tasks, which Red calls "gifts," each challenging Jason in an improbable way, the accumulation of which would change him forever.

Featuring an all-star cast including Golden Globe winner and six-time Emmy® nominee Brian Dennehy, Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominee James Garner, and Academy Award® nominee Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Signs).
